After owning this 04 Subaru STi for approx 9+ years..( located in Columbus Mississippi so that means it has NO RUST!!!! Never seen a sandy beach or a salty winter road either ... EVER!!)...
I feel it is time to let someone else actually enjoy its performance and reliability I have equipped it with . Over the last several years I have been so busy with the shop flow and family, I hardly ever have time to drive this anymore. I have only accumulated 1800 miles in 3 years time . She sits covered up in the back and literally gets driven to the store and back maybe once a week just to keep everything in working order. Couple of toasty burnouts from time to time but nothing too bad. Tires are brand new as well as most everything else, ball joints, bearings, axles, clutch, etc..
84000 original miles on the chassis , 83000 on the LS/T56 engine/trans.
All the hard parts needed to perform this extensive swap were provided by Ty at Fast Nigel (v8wrx.com)...before he even offered a kit. I was more a test subject to make sure this was going to work...and it evolved like King Kong in no time
You may have seen a few LS swapped STis on the web but you have NOT seen one this clean!! No one knows its even swapped until you open the hood! This swap is 100% correct and was performed before most guys on the scene have ever even heard of an LS swap haha! We did this to ensure it could be done and be done beautifully!! No dollar tree parts or shady work here!
This car can be seen on v8wrx.com as this one was one the FIRST Subaru creations performed by Ty/ Fast Nigel himself, master fabricator. Maybe i am biased being the owner but this is the nicest one in my opinion :)
...Custom front and rear sub frames are powder coated candy orange complete with poly bushings which now replace all the OEM rubber parts.
The chosen power plant for this beast was a LS 5.7 pulled from a 2004 GTO with approx 83000 miles as well as the T56 6 Speed trans. Both purchased from the LS CANDY SHOP out of New York. Those guys know their LS stuff!!! This trans has the same gearing as the Z06 and CTS-V. Very aggressive gearing! This particular LS engine coming from the 04 GTO, was hand assembled in Australia with a factory LS6 intake and a camshaft very similar to the LS6. Not your regular run of the mill LS built in Mexico/Canada . The engine remains in stock form has only been upgraded with fuel rails, custom long tube headers and a stand-alone tune.
The T56 6 speed trans has been equipped with a stage 3 Spec C clutch/pressure plate/flywheel, bronze bushings, MCW short throw shifter . Willwood master cyl, Braided steel lines, etc. Yet the car still retains its Stock appearance as all the gauges and body controls are still functional( although the coolant gauge reads a little low and could probably have used a smaller resistor instead on the 500k),either way she runs a max coolant temp of 212, just as intended. Although i would guess that the oversized double pass radiator would keep Hell itself cool. The LS ECU is mounted in the glove box as well as the DLC plug for any diagnostic/tuning in the future.
The custom 500+HP rated driveshaft was provided by the Driveshaft Specialists out of Texas. Rear diff is an 06 Nismo 350z R200 (3.55) with locking shims installed. Uses stock Nissan axles. No peg leg burnouts here!! 2 wheel drive ALL THE TIME! I would guesstimate the top speed to be 190-200 ish as It effortlessly cruises at 100 MPH..
After the swap was completed and vehicle re weighed, we lost approx 200+ pounds in the front ( Including the removal of the Huge APS FMIC, charge piping, etc..) and gained approx 80 pounds in the rear. (Large axles, diff, fuel cell, etc..) WOW!! All of the steering / ride geometry was considered at the time of its construction & design so their are NO flaws. Basically it rides/drives as if it were still a stock vehicle other than the 18x9.5 wheels/tires doing a little fender rubbing while speeding over large speed bumps and such. Could use a fender roll I suppose... Doesn't rub turn to turn only over large speed bumps...which you should slow down for anyways ... .)
Factory alarm/security system, hidden radar jammer, NO AC , just simply never got to it...
This car has NEVER been wrecked or damaged in any way despite the passenger fender being dented. (It fell off a jackstand years ago and hit the car parked next to it) . I never replaced the fender.
I performed this meticulous swap over 6 years ago with intentions of actually building a RELIABLE Subaru as I was also interested in how many OEM parts I could utilize. I was surprised that i was able to keep almost everything Stock other than the engine/trans. And it turned out fantastic!! No disappointments here!!
Open headers do make it a little loud but it sure is fun to blast down the highway in!! The headers are equipped with V bands so it is ready for a simple extension to run adequate length piping according to your local laws/ personal preference.
Wiring harness has been completely customized to work with the all the factory functions. Complete stock fuel sending unit has been relocated to the truck with a custom 16 gal fuel cell. Yes that's 1 gallon larger than the OEM tank was!! I would really like someone to actually enjoy this instead of it sitting under a car cover all its life.
COME AND GET IT!!!! Shipping/receiving is the buyers responsibility . It sits under a car cover awaiting on its next owner to come and take possession.
Make a reasonable offer and this just might be yours!!... Clear title, no damage EVER!!!
Only CONS i can honestly say would be the dented passenger fender, crack in the windshield, and the faint smell of race fuel coming from the fuel cell in the trunk. .o and its loud. I like it , some people may not.
|“Cleanest LS Swap STi ! No accidents, No crashes, No wrecks, No floods, No rust, No body repairs anywhere, etc. Cons are small dent in passenger fender, slight faded spoiler top, crack in windshield.” |
