eBay I purchased this truck 3 years ago on eBay from the original owner. He was an older gentleman and was from Arizona which is where the truck had spent it's life up until I bought it and had it shipped to the east coast. It looked basically new when I got it aside from a crack in the dash and some slight fading on he roof and hood from the hot desert sun, some rock chips here and there, and a small dent in the rear bumper. The seats and carpets were covered since the truck was new so they are in excellent shape. The frame looked brand new and still had all of its factory stickers and tags in place. The truck is still extremely rust free after only 3 years on this coast. The frame is just starting to show light surface rust and there is no rust on the body except where rock chips and scratches in the bed have removed paint. These areas are also just beginning to show light surface rust. The truck had also always been maintained mechanically. The previous owner did all routine maintenance by the book including replacing the injection pump at 100k miles even though it was working fine. Since I have owned the truck I have kept up on routine maintenance and also rebuilt the front end, rebuilt the vacuum pump, replaced the power steering pump, rebuilt the front driveshaft, rebuilt the transmission, and done some other minor repairs. The truck has the strong 55 engine block so no worries about the cracked blocks associated with the weak 53 blocks found in a lot of the second generation trucks. This truck runs, drives and shifts great with no slop in the front end. All of the common issues and weak spots with these trucks have been recently rebuilt or replaced on this one. The only issues with the truck that I can think of are a very minor oil leak somewhere near the oil pan. The pan is damp and the truck will leave a drop or two of oil if parked in one spot for a few days, but what cummins doesn't? Also, I believe the batteries or starter are starting to get weak as it turns over slow on very cold mornings if not left plugged in the night before. There was a fifth wheel and auxiliary fuel tank in the truck when I purchased it which is why there are some holes in the bed. I removed them because I only tow an enclosed trailer and a dump trailer occasionally which are both bumper pull. The original owner had a toy hauler which he would take into the desert a couple times a year to camp out and play with his jeep. The truck never did any regular heavy towing, just recreational. The truck is completely stock and has never had any hi performance modifications done to it or programmers hooked up to it. It still retains its original factory intake and exhaust! Overall I would say this truck is in very good to excellent condition. I love the second generation cummins trucks and it took me a long time to find one in this condition with only one previous owner that had been taken care of and had an easy life. I planned to keep this truck for a long time but my growing family made it necessary to purchase a new crew cab cummins and I just don't need two trucks so this one needs to find a new home.
