This is a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Edition. It has 186k on the odometer. I bought this car via an online auction and the CarFax shows it is a clean, one owner (prior to me) vehicle. The car originated new from a dealer in the Dallas, TX area so it never saw salted roadways or anything like that. I picked it up near Fort Worth and trailered it back to Austin. In Austin I had my private mechanic look at it and he performed the following repairs: new brake rotors and pads (all 4), new control arms/ball joints, new front struts, new rear shocks, new tie rods (inner and outer), new stabilizer bar links, all three new motor mounts, new transmission mount, new ignition coils (4), new spark plugs (4) and spark plug wires (4), new power steering pump and new pressurized hose line, new timing belt and water pump, new oil pressure sender switch, and new belts. All of these parts were purchased from Rock Auto and I have all the receipts ($815.40, plus $30 for a power steering pump pulley the mechanic found had broken when he went to replace the power steering pump). He also charged me over $1k in total labor. Good news is pretty much everything mechanical that needed to be fixed was fixed so it is road worthy for a daily driver. Tires are in good condition. VIN is 3C8FY68B52T230603.
This car has an automatic transmission, power windows, power door locks, powered moon roof, heated front seats, two keyless remotes with keys, leather seats, and power mirrors. It has a factory AM/FM/Cassette/CD player. I put a dash mat to cover a crack in the dash board (16 years in the Texas sun). Car has a brown interior with a silver exterior. No major dents on the car but expect minor scratches and dings typical for a car of its age. I added a locking gas cap on it and a chrome exhaust tip. The AC blows cold and the heat blows hot. No check engine light is on, it passed inspection. Vehicle registration is valid until March 2019.
I have seen many of these cars list for less but they all will most likely require thousands of dollars in needed repairs given their age. Good thing parts are relatively inexpensive for the car and plentiful, but the labor still costs the same regardless of a $3k car or a $10k car.
My terms are simple. I can show the car by appointment only in Northwest Austin. No test drives unless you have cash in hand, otherwise you can take a look at it and start the car, etc. I welcome any independent inspections so long as they come to the location where it is at. I have the title in hand I can sign over to you. No personal checks sorry. I do not owner finance. Buyer has to pay appropriate sales tax in their area (Texas is 6.25%) and if it is going to be shipped somewhere, buyer has to pay the shipping fees. I do not ship until receipt of funds (certified funds or credit card +4%).
Any questions please ask. Photos were taken on 11/1/2018. Current odometer reading at the time of photos is 186,159. Car is currently not driver daily so mileage should not change drastically.
