2000 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon 240,628 miles, Imola Red exterior, Sand Beige interior $2000 OBO
2.3 liter turbocharged, 230HP, automatic transmission 4 speed
Original owner, purchased September 2000. The car is original - no aftermarket modifications. We ordered a dealer-installed hitch with the car and full load package.
Has original BBS 2-piece wheels which I had refinished by Wheel Collision Center in 2014. Also, included is a set of 4 refinished BBS 2-piece wheels with snow tires mounted. Those wheels were refinished when I purchased them years ago and could use refinishing again. Each winter I swapped the summer wheels/tires for the snow wheels/tires. The interior is in great shape. The owner’s manual is included and we have one key with remote opener.
All the service records including all the work I’ve done myself. Oil replaced every 10,000 miles or less with full synthetic. Original transmission was replaced at 165,777 miles with a used one that had 95,000 miles. Has space-saver spare used 2x. Original exhaust and catalytic converter. Passes biannual emissions tests in Maryland.
What’s needed. The rear main seal between the engine and transmission is leaking oil. I haven’t added enough oil to get a feel for the rate of the leak, but I would WAG it’s less than 1 quart/1000 miles. To replace that gasket would require removing the transmission. The SID is missing some pixels. We’ve replaced it three times before. The engine has intermittently been making a thrumming sound and when it does that it keeps doing it until you shut off the engine. It sounds like the Rpm's are cycling up and down a bit when it makes this noise, but the rpm gauge doesn’t show the Rpm’s wavering. When you do turn off the ignition while the engine is doing this it continues to run for a second before it quits running. When it does this thrumming, the car engine still works normally and does not go into limp home mode. I’m suspecting a sensor or vacuum leak. The rearview mirror is a little loose. There is rust showing on the body in front of both rear wheels. There are stone chips on the nose and hood and door dings on both sides.
