1999 Porsche 911 Convertible 6 Speed Manual
I acquired this 1999 Porsche 911 from on older lady who had owned it for 12 years, she purchased it from a local doctor who had owned it since it was 6 months old, all here in Nashville, Tn. The lady told me that she was driving and the car cutout and she stopped on the side of the road, had it towed to her house and went and bought a Corvette. The car then sat under a carport for a couple of years until i made her an offer to buy it.
I have not done anything with it at all, I have not diagnosed any mechanical issues the car has so all I can do is give you the Physical condition of the car as it sits.
The top is in good condition, there looks to be no separation at the joints, its clean and does not appear to leak when tested with the hosepipe. The rear windows has a little hazing but is not torn or excessively scratched up and all of the stitching is intact and the roof is nice and taught.
The paint seems to be in OK condition, it looks good without too much fading, the clear coat all looks OK and it has decent shine and luster and will clean up nice, there is a scratch down the right side of the car like it went scraped something on that side but it only damaged the front fender, rear arch and the rear bumper (I took pics) on the drivers side there is a dent 2x 4 its not a sharp dent, there is no paint damage and the metal is not stretched or kinked so it might PDR out (I tried to take a picture to show)
There are a couple of dings on both sides but nothing major, the rear bumper has a stress lines on it where it was backed into something (the rear bumper needs re-spraying) there are a few other minor scuffs here and there, in general the car looks great as it is from 10 feet, a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy and a good detail and the outside will look great !
Wheels have a little curbing to them, the tires are Hankooks and all match, I they appear to have decent tread but I dont know the condition of the tires or how they roll, all the glass is good with no damage.
The interior is a little rougher than the outside, the previous owner had a dog that liked to go on trips with her and is damaged the seats, the passenger one is worse and is pretty badly ripped, the drivers eat is also damaged, the seats will need to be re upholstered, I dont think you could save them but the power controls appear to work fine and they are taped up and work but look a little ugly. Apart from the seats everything looks ok, dash is not damaged or cracked, it has a stock cassette stereo, it has the original floor mats that are in decent condition, the carpets have a few stains here and there but are not torn and would benefit by a good steam cleaning. The previous owner smoked in the car and there are a few burns in the seats and you may find another here and there.
I really cannot tell you anything about the mechanics other than what I was told by the Previous owner. She had spent a lot of money on service for the car and was told she was going to need a clutch soon. She was driving it and it cutout, she tried to restart it and the car would not fire so she towed it home and put it under a carport where it sat till I bought it. I always assume the worst so I expect that this car has suffered an IMS bearing failure, I maybe and probably are wrong, I have not diagnosed anything on the car at all and I am selling it the same way. It could be something simple or it could need a new engine, The transmission seems to engage the gears OK and the brakes (although rusty from standing) were replaced 5000 miles ago at a cost of $2000 (I have the bill). The convertible top does not work and I have a service advisory that it is one of the motors that is faulty but again I cannot confirm, the top does not work.
I really don't know much more about this car, it belonged to a friend of a friend and was titled to a trust, I have done the title work so it will come with a Clean Tennessee Title in My name so it will be an easy transfer to the new owner.
Why am I selling this car NO RESERVE ? I have good faith in the market for cars like this, I try to give you clear pictures of the car and as accurate of the car as possible and start the price low enough and let the market decide on what the price should be. I will commit to sell the car to the highest bidder whatever that price will be so I ask that you please don't bid unless you absolutely are ready to buy and have the funds to purchase.
The car is located 30 miles north of Nashville, Tn in Zip 37172
You WILL need to trailer this car away, it rolls just fine but will need to be trailered.
Again I am selling this car NO RESERVE so it will go to the highest bidder.
GOOD LUCK !!!!
