For Sale World Challenge Spec Integra Type R. This is a 1998 Integra Type R. This Chassis has never been tracked or wrecked (only a few tuning sessions (under 20 minutes total). The car was built using all the parts off a Tech 2 Motorsports World Challenge Touring Car. The body on the original World Challenge car was trashed after 5 years of use so they ended up getting a new shell rather then repairing the old one. They cloned the cage from the original car and transferred all the parts after having them all refurbished to new. The original car was a DC Sports built car which cost them over $105,000 to build new. The car was featured in Sports Compact Car and is in the original grand Turismo game.
The complete stock suspension was disassembled and the use of spherical bearings was implemented everywhere. Custom upper control arms were made to allow from caster and camber adjustability. Rear control arms were boxed and tig welded to ensure durability throughout a World Challenge race. Custom rear and front sway bars were fabricated to help rid the car of the classic front wheel drive push. All the tie rods and end links were made of aluminum to reduce weight and to make the suspension completely adjustable to suit any driver’s needs. To complete the suspension package Ohlins TT44 dampers were implemented to give total control to the team engineer. The front Dampers are 4 way adjustable and rear rears are 3 way adjustable, keep in mind these are the exact same make and model Dampers used on Indy and IRL race cars. Each damper alone is over $2K, before making all the hardware to fit an Integra.
Also added is a full 8 point cage which goes all the way to the front towers. The cage was copied from the World Challenge Touring Car, which used to be the DC Sports car. Inside the car we have removed everything from the dash and relocated the steering column for Ideal location for the new seat position. The body is in excellent condition with the exception of a scrape on the rear bumper (repainted over the scrap), and a couple of access holes in the side runners. The car has a custom tubular front bumper support for racing which covers the whole front of the car and a custom radiator shroud to funnel air only to the radiator. Installed is a $12K Comptech motor. There is a new high flow Walbro fuel pump installed as well. This car was setup to be the back up car for the World Challenge Touring Car but was never used.
To make the car stop the use of Stoptech 13in brake kit was used. Dual AP master cylinders were used to transfer fluid to the brakes. To have more precise steering and save HP the use of a manual rack was used.
The power from the car comes from a new Comptech USA Engine that produces a consistent 235 HP to the wheels. The engine has been completely built and only retains a stock crank internally, everything else has been upgraded with no expense spared. The Engine has over 12K invested in it alone. Some of the parts inside of the engine are as follows; Carello rods, JE piston, Supertec valves, Supertec valve springs, Toda Cams spec c, Toda cam gears, NSX injectors, All of this blue printed and balanced by Comptech USA.
This engine is brand new and has only been broken in.
