Pretty much a time capsule. 1945 Willys MB. I like to compare this to the USS Midway in that they both were made right before the war ended and still classified as war time.
This has numbers matching engine (meaning correct vin and codes for this year, yet still original to jeep). Head is original early and not ribbed. Does not have originalCoil or generator and alternator has been installed, 12 volt Engine runs great and will need rewiring under dash at some point. Carb is post war. here
Walk around: here
Body has never been taken off of frame from what I can tell and in great shape with double nuts still in place. Will need some patch work around left side axe area and some hat channel work with a few holes in floor, but mostly the floors are solid. Dash and glove box area are great and uncut too. Fenders are in great shape and the hood is F marked at the hinges. Windshield is excellent shape and I THINK there is original glass? No rot on windshield frame inner or outer that I can find and this was stored in the desert. Seat frames original and are in excellent shape and just need canvas. Gas tank is original and holds gas with original tank straps. Gas sump area needs replaced underneath. Gauges look to be original, speedo needle fell off and needs to be fixed. Spare Tire holder and gas holder with strap original. Tub has been repainted but I left the inside the way I got it with a lot of faded OD original paint.
Frame is straight and has straight original frame horns! Bumper was welded on rear but am be ground off to put the original bumperettes back on. Skid plates still underneath original Frame tag still there with vin. Still have 3 of the original bumper bolts. Unbelievable condition. I sourced a front bumper that is original and needs some work on bottom and straightening. Rear bumperetts are F marked with some pitting but in great shape. Axles still have some OD paint from 1945. Skid plate still attached. This appears to never have been separated from the body and looks like the bolts are all original for the most part.
All ID dash tags are original and not reproduction. So data and delivery date etc are correct.
Accessories include 1941 galvanized gas tank, 1945 canvas water bucket, tire pump, thick rope for front bumper and another 1945 gas can with original OD paint.
New master cylinder for brakes put on. Does not have combat rims, rear seat, rear view mirror, or top canvas bows. Should be a fairly easy restoration though. I have left the paint as I got it on the inside of the tub. The outside has been repainted. Steering will need tightened up also but is original.
Clean title. I have listed everything to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions or unsure about anything it will be up to you to ask and I will do my best to answer. This will be your responsibility to pick up or have shipped at your cost. Sold as is.
Full payment due within 2 weeks from end of auction. I can deduct $500 off price if you don’t want wheels/tires currently on it and will put garage spares in place.
