I am the second owner, having purchased it in May of 2011 locally. It is a 2000 S model--the first year for the S. It has 53k miles. The external color is Arctic Silver and the interior is the optional full-leather Boxster red. It has a 6-speed manual. Other options include: Litronic headlamps, premium sound and heated seats. It also came equipped with the optional roll-bar windstop inserts that include a plexiglass screen between the headrests and plastic mesh inserts that go in the headrest arches. The latter were black, but I had them painted to match the body color. These are used for open-top driving to keep turbulence at a minimum. A few months after purchasing it I bought and installed the necessary hardware to accommodate the optional hard top (this doesn't come standard from the factory unless you order it with the hard top) and bought a hard top in matching color on eBay. An Escort radar detector with front and rear sensors had been installed before my purchase.
The prior owner had it serviced at our local Porsche dealer (located on Route 611 in Warrington, PA) as have I mostly. The exceptions are a few occasions at a non-dealer local place in town specializing in foreign cars and a specialty Porsche repair shop near my work. I have all the service records he provided and those for any work/repairs that have been done during my ownership. All required maintenance has been kept up to date. The photos show the maintenance book with stamps for all service done while with the previous owner; I've not had the book stamped, but have all records/receipts of service as stated above.
The following work was done by my brothers (very handy) for significant savings over dealer rates: replacement of the CV boot covers which were torn, replacement of the front strut mount bearings, and new spark plugs at 50k. The parts were all OEM which I found for much less than dealer cost.
Disclosure on body work/paint:
While at my brother's house for one of these jobs (the plugs) he accidentally backed into the Boxster while moving his car to reposition them and impacted the front bumper on the passenger side. It was a mild tap, not creating any structural damage but causing the paint to crack spider-web like. His insurance covered the cost of repainting the bumper. At the same visit to the body shop I had other damage that I had created last year addressed. This is rather embarrassing--one day while trying to make a K-turn from a parked position near a corner I swung right to give myself more room having thought that I cleared the curb at the corner and ended up scraping the right rocker panel and right rear wheel. The wheel had the very edge scraped for about one-third the circumference and this was repaired at the dealer and it looks as new. The rocker panel was repaired at the body shop as mentioned. I have all the documentation and receipts for these two incidents.
The car is really in quite excellent condition save for typical rock chips on the hood, fenders and door. They are small and have been touched up. There are areas of mild superficial cracking of the driver's seat leather on the backrest and seat cushion bolsters on the left side only (by the door). I condition the leather often to keep it from increasing and have put seat covers on from time to time but don't like the look so I just try to be careful getting in and out in order not to worsen it. I've included pictures of these areas. I took a stone to the windshield right in the driver's line of sight that left a superficial chip/crack of about 4 mm that has been filled at SafeLite auto glass (have the receipt and warranty). The convertible top window is plastic and has some clouding on the sides where the roof folds and superficial scratches but the visibility is excellent. The hat shelf carpet which is exposed when the top is closed has some fading from the sun. The canvas top is in excellent condition and looks new with no tears or damage of any kind. Plastic trim pieces on the doors and console have some scratches but none that are deep or unsightly.
I have a clean and clear title and two keys. The remote transmitter does not work on one of the keys. When I bought it neither worked or could be repaired and I replaced the head on one of them.
Thank you for looking. I welcome and encourage inspections in person if possible or by independent third-party. I'll be glad to send any additional requested photos and of course happy to answer any questions.
