Selling a restored 1980 Triumph Spitfire. This has been a multi-year restoration project and a fun car to drive, but it is time to sell.
The Pros: Almost everything has been rebuilt or replaced with new parts and you can see the engine shine in the pics. I started the project but had two local experts finish putting it all back together. Full documentation of all the work that has been done. It has overdrive, but the switch is located under the dash instead of in the shift handle. Has the bracket for a stereo, but we decided against installing one. You can easily remove the bracket. Wood veneer dahs was replaced with a custom made solid wood dash. Convertible top is free of tears and fully fits. Has a tan boot cover for the convertible top. Also the manual and a few extra parts included.
Cons: I had new seats and a paint job done at the beginning of the project several years ago and both were cheap and now show wear and age, with the drivers seat cracked at the seams. No rust in the body panels. The drivers floorboard had rust before I bought it and was patched with fiberglass. Paint has a small crack in the Bonnet where the bonnet was slammed down on the wrong size master cylinder. New master cylinder installed, but the paint was not repaired.
All around a few stone chips in the paint- This car cleans up real nice as you can see in the pics!
A true dream to drive, we just don't have room with a growing family.
