It is a manual 4 speed with electric overdrive. Shifts great, brakes and tires are good. It has 333,000 miles on it. We just got back from a 900 mile road trip, and it drove really well. Power steering, roll-up windows. Clock, heater, fan, speedometer, gas and temp gauges all work. All lights work. Jetronic fuel injection, so no choke, starts every time.
One owner until recently. M46 manual trans with working overdrive. No factory AC. Yes, it has rust (see photos). Floors are surprisingly not terrible. Some rust along the edges where the floor meets the rockers. The cargo area was always covered and is pretty much unfaded and looks nearly new. Drivers seat has some tears. Have put several hundred miles on the car and it runs and drives well. Original owner only ever used genuine factory Volvo replacement parts to repair and service it, and the original owner or the dealer did all of the service. Oil was said to be changed every 2K from new. New timing belt, motor and trans mounts done within the past 3k, and a ton of other new parts. Too much to list. Oil just changed 1000 miles ago and we used a factory oil filter of course. Radio is not included. The early 240's have become very difficult to find in any condition. I would not be afraid to drive this car on a long trip.
