I am an American, living in Spain, and I sell and export vehicles to the USA regularly. Although shipping costs are not included in the price of the sale, I work every month with an established worldwide shipper and will work directly with the buyer to arrange delivery to the USA. I will drop the vehicle off at the port of Valencia for you at no additional cost, prepare all the proper documentation for shipping to the USA, and handle all the US customs and importation on the USA side.
If you would like me to handle the shipping, customs paperwork, and everything for you, the cost is a flat-rate of $2500, port-to-port, to your choice of Baltimore, MD or Jacksonville, FL or Freeport (Galveston), TX. No additional costs. No work on your part. You just pick the car up from the port, fully cleared and released.
Once the vehicle is in your possession, you will also have all the documents you need to register the car in 49 states (California excepted). I can even arrange transportation within the USA, from the port to your driveway. In short, I am here to help with every step of the process of delivering this vehicle to you.
You are of course welcome to fly here and test the car for yourself before you bid, but if that is not feasible, I will be happy to take additional photos, videos, etc. and send them to you. Whatever you need. We can speak on the telephone, or by Skype, so you can see the vehicle in real time before you bid.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?Freshly restored, rust free and beautiful from every angle, this Series IIA 88 is as nice as they come and needs nothing.
The exterior was recently stripped and resprayed in the original Sage Green, and the bodywork is straight with all work completed to a high standard. The original galvanized beltline trim is original and lovely. An older respraye of the original Limestone colored wheels is holding up very well with no significant curb rash or damage, and all four tires are recent, with excellent tread depth and new tubes. The top is a brand new Exmoor canvas unit with a new galvanized hoop set (top frame) and is in perfect condition.
The interior shows beautifully, and although largely original, demonstrates the care with which this 88 has always been used. Dashboard is straight and correctly finished, and the seats have been recently reupholstered in the original Series IIA deluxe pattern, with all new foams.
Underneath, the chassis is entirely straight and completely rust free. There is no rust anywhere - not in the frame rails, cross members, suspension pickup points, doors, floors or bulkheads. None.
Top to bottom, inside and out, it looks as correct and appealing as an 88 can be, in a beautifully classic color combination and with the best canvas roof in the business. Easily changed from fully closed to half-open or fully open, this Land Rover can be used in any weather easily and comfortably. The top and frame can be removed in just a few minutes, and the upper door sections can be removed in just a few minutes more, allowing fully open motoring. And driving a Land Rover fully open is... pure freedom.
WHAT'S IT LIKE TO DRIVE?With minimal warming the glow plugs required, the rugged little Rover two-and-a-quarter diesel fires easily and settles into a comfy idle with no undue smoke or clatter. Select first, engage the clutch and off you go.
Torquey and responsive to the throttle, the 88 leaps off the line and revs eagerly through the gears all the way up to its gearing-limited top cruising speed of about 80 kph. The steering, typically heavy at parking speeds, immediately lightens up underway and is direct with no slop, the clutch travel is perfect, the gearchange snicks from cog to cog with the precision of a rifle bolt, and the brakes stop powerfully with a firm and easily-modulated pedal. It's an easy Landy to drive, and feels great on road or off, with performance adequate for keeping up with modern traffic on all but the fastest roadways.
All gauges, lights and switches work as intended, and the vehicle has recently passed the rigorous Spanish safety inspection without issue.
It is a lovely driver. Simple to own, simple to operate, and simple to maintain. These 88's are eminently maneuverable on road or off, and with the legendary Land Rover agility in tough terrain, this Series IIA would make a fantastic adventure vehicle for reaching that remote fishing hole, surf break, camp site, or rustic English pub across town.
