1300cc Alfa Twin Cam I4
Transmission: 4 Speed
One Owner since 1960
Racing History in 1970s
The Giulietta was a popular platform for people to convert into racecars back in the day. They ticked all the boxes, lightweight, nimble, proper suspension geometry.Seeing one in the United States is not as common, so it is quite interesting. These cars were relatively high-tech for their time, utilizing a twin cam aluminum alloy inline four, displacing 1300cc. They had a dual wishbone suspension up front, and a live axle in rear, which didn't require huge modification to really make the cars handle great.
This particular example has a quite interesting story behind it. This car has had one owner since 1960, and was his daily driver for around 10 years. We were told stories from his wife of driving around and being courted by her boyfriend(The Owner) when it was still a street car. In the late 60s the car was converted into a race car. Along with the car we received many documents outlining the engineering behind some of the racing modifications, as well as logbooks form it being raced. The car was raced in the 70s by a local Colorado racer.
The interior has been fully stripped from the car, as well as all the undercoating and sound deadening on the floor pans. This car has been stored inside, and without anything to help hold salt or moisture to the floors, they have stayed remarkably dry and rust free. In fact, there is not any notable rust to be found anywhere on the car. The rear suspension on the car has been modified with spherical rod end bushings rather than rubber bushings in order to aide with handling. Fiberglass fender flares have been added to the car in order to fit the larger tires. A roll cage has also been added, as it was raced on track with other cars. The body is in pretty decent shape, with no signs of any significant accidents throughout the cars life. The original engine is in the car, along with the gearbox, in non running/driving condition. The wheels are from an Alfa Romeo Performance Parts catalog dated 1969, and are original Campangolo Magnesium wheels, in 15x6.
The car is still titled. which is quite rare for a car that has been converted for racing.

“This is an ex-racecar, modified in the 1970s by a local Colorado Racer. It is in quite nice condition for a period racecar, and could be restored back to original condition or used for vintage racing. There is virtually no rust on the car since it has been stored inside it's whole life, as well as having most of the undercoating and sound deadening removed. The engine is the numbers matching to the chassis, however it is in non-running condition.”
